गाँव

गाँव आज भी वैसे ही हैं, यह अलग बात है कि आपका और हमारा गाँव बदल गया है, लेकिन जहां संसाधनों की कमी है, स्थिति वहां आज भी पहले जैसी ही है। मौसम के बदलते मिजाज के हिसाब से लोग अपने को तैयार कर लेते हैं, और उसकी तैयारी महीनों से शुरू हो जाती है। पहाडों के इन गांवों में बर्फ जल्दी ही पड़ेगी और फिर कुछ महीने के लिए यह दुनिया से कट जाएंगे, सड़कें बर्फ से लद जाएंगी और आवागमन ठप्प पड़ जाएगा। खाने पीने की सब्जियों के लिए तार पे लटके टोकरे ही काम आएंगे वह भी तब जब सब्जियों बाज़ारों मे आएंगी।

गोशाल नाम का यह गाँव होटल के पास है, सड़क से नीचे, बर्फ गिरने पर लोग उपर भी नहीं आ सकते और नदियाँ आने जाने का रास्ता बंद कर देती हैं, अगल बगल के जंगलों से लकड़ियाँ अभी से ही जमा किया जाने लगा है, ठंड के दिनों के लिए, मवेशियों को भी खिला पिला के स्वस्थ रखा जाता है अधिक परेशानी होने पर वही भोजन भी बनते हैं महीनों तक क्यूंकि कुछ और नहीं होता। हमारे ड्राइवर ने कहा सर वही बकरा सुबह भी और शाम भी, मसाले भी ना के बराबर, फिर पैसे कहाँ इतने है जो मसाले रखे जाएं महीनों के लिए। लकड़ियों की भी बड़ी दिक्कत है, सूखे पेड़ भी काटने के लिए सरकारी हुक्म की जरूरत पड़ती है, कुछ घर पहाड़ के ऊपर हैं वह तो कुछ हफ्ते सूखे मीट खाकर भी चलाते हैं और अगर समस्या बढ़ती है तो नीचे के गांवों मे शरण लेते हैं। जो लोग उपर फँस जाते हैं उन्हें जान भी गंवानी पड़ती है।

जो टूरिस्ट देर से आते हैं उन्हे बरफ देखने की बड़ी इच्छा होती है यह पूछने पर ड्राइवर कहता है, हाँ साहब ख़ुद तो मरते हैं और हमें भी मारते हैं लेकिन रोटी किसको नहीं सुहाती, कभी कभी विवश कर देती है। यात्री ही यहां के भगवान हैं लेकिन यह सोच बार बार आती है क्या सबको यह सब दिखता है?

पहाड़ के ऊपर सूरज डूबने लगा है, हम होटल के पास पहुंच चुके थे.... सेब के बागीचे इस समय नंगे थे बरफ के बाद वह भी हरे हो जाएंगे और ये गाँव भी।

Market! Can't you see it around?

The earth in which you decided to take birth is a mix of religions, faith, beliefs, humanity-inhumanity and above all we have created it a big market. If you are a traveler and want to travel all the places which are on no 1 of your charts, jot them down ans see how many of them are related to a religious place and believe me you will be amazed to know that most of them are a religious place or become famous cause of a religion or belief system. Though, I agree that in the recent times when we are on the verge of consuming all our resources around, we become a naturalist and go anywhere where we get most of the nature to wander for.

However, we will talk about that ij our other post but the places which attracts traveler round the year are the religious one. And so they create a market, a market which is very vast and create its own economic system. It provides not only dependability but also coming up with a vibrant ecological system which we seldom feel while we visit those places. As we prosper, we can see that the shops which were used to be the street shops, can be seen now in a mall which is just besides the main attraction. And then, there are still shops which are on streets and cheap now. Still, they are the one which provide the place its essence and roots from where these markets emerged. During my recent visits in Mumbai and nearby places I have shot some of the pics of these markets. Though, I agree this is such a vast subject which cannot be covered in one post. Recognize Mumbai

What picture you make out of these photographs. For me it's as vibrant as a city could be. Its not only about the certain high rises of the city but also about the essence of it, it speaks and cries hard in front of us but our tendency is not to look at it. We keep wandering and try to create a new picture but we seldom look at the real people behind it who construct the city as we see it. Lets have a look at the different shade of Mumbai which is not hidden but never recognized for what it is.
